Introducing Regional Manager – Damian Jones

7 Oct

As of the middle of July I took over from Ian Cumming as PADI Regional Manager for NSW, VIC, TAS, SA and WA.  It’s been awesome to get out and see many PADI Members so far.  I’ve been lucky enough to have worked with many of you in the past and it has been great to meet the many new faces and passionate PADI Dive Centre owners in my travels so far.

About Damian Jones…

photo-damo

My PADI career started from the age of 18 years old working as a PADI Dive Instructor in Melbourne initially and then onto the Great Barrier Reef, working on large day boats operated in Airlie Beach and live-aboard boats conducting diver training in Cairns.  After my stint in Tropical North Queensland I then moved back to Melbourne working part time for a local dive centre and studying for a Bachelor Degree in Business.  Once completed, I did what any 25 year old dive Instructor wanted to do and bought a dive shop, and have been running that business for the past 10 years.  Along the way I became a PADI Course Director and travelled to many of the amazing tropical dive locations around the globe. However I always loved coming back home to the beautiful diving in Victoria.  I’ve now started to enjoy the new opportunities as a PADI Regional Manager.

Since I started the PADI Regional Manager position in July 2016, I’ve travelled to Perth and Melbourne visiting members. I also had an opportunity to visit some of the PADI Dive Centres in the South Island of New Zealand together with their Regional Manager Jen Clent and Territory Director Thomas Knedlik. My next trip is to Sydney in mid-October to visit some members and spend some time at the PADI Head Office.

If you are a PADI Member and would like to get in touch with me via phone on 0407304642 or email damian.jones@padi.com.au

I look forward to meeting many more PADI Members and Dive Centres around the country to help grow their businesses, and the Australian diving market.
